How much more power would masking sensitive data take, especially with SED scripts on the Heavy Forwarder?

Hi All, I am currently working with a large client who would like to use Splunk to mask sensitive data but are worried about the computational and time overheads. Is there any data on how much more power the masking would take, especially with SED scripts on the Heavy Forwarder? Thanks Tim
